I used
to inspire the youth-job seekers, aspiring entrepreneurs and employees in
number of my teaching, restlessly by saying; “If you cannot force yourself to
love what you do, you will be forced to love what others do.” Friendly speaking, when you fall in love with what others do,you’ll be in a
situation of losing the freedom to make choices with what you really love to
do. Others will always run a show and dictate to you on what to do for their
interest.Really,you’ll be a talented slave!
Mother Theresa once
warned; “Work without love is slavery”. You will be a slave of paycheck and
other people preferences while in real sense you don’t feel to work or do what
you are doing right now.
When you love what you are doing; that, will
makes you work with passion and feel free to do what you are doing because you
know the reason to do so.Loving what you do will make you do great in
production of goods or services with enormous income as the late Steve Job,an entrepreneur, inventor and a co-founder, chairman, and a chief executive officer of Apple Inc once said;
"And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.“
Do you really love what
you are doing right now? Does your current job make you feel happy in life? Trying to be genuine with these questions. Your
genuine answers within will assist you in planning a new face of what you are
doing right now. Know your calling; find something you love, something that is making
your heart sing, believe me! You’ll be able to unchains the so what called
slavery i.e. a self-made slavery.
Avoid falling into a trap
of doing something you don’t love to do. Doing something you don’t like for
something in return, will prepare yourself to be a slave under a so-called in
new name of slavery- “Modern-Day Slavery”. Finally, you will be complaining
everyday about working environment not to be conducive and decide with your
coworkers for demonstration to change the situation and appeal for good working
conditions. But, keep in mind that, the changes you are demanding will not
change you unless you’ve decided to change yourself to change your life.
Stay alerted, we are
living in an era of stiff competition in job market; very similar to what Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace in 1858 highlighted in the theory of Natural selection; with “survival of the fittest”. In a competitive labour market, people with competitive skills conquer
the labour market. This competition has led many people to be neglected with
the market, that is, there are a huge number of people doing job out of their
dreams for the sake of counting a day for a daily bread. In real sense, their
hearts are far away from what they are doing while singing another song of “freedom”.
Really, they don’t love what they do; they love the returns of what they do
without love.
Taking a self-assessment
now, it’s not worth to ignore the inner burning desire of doing something you
really love. Although, you are working outside your dream job, you have to work
hard wherever you are while keep on thinking and building your dream work; a work
that you love most as part time. It’s doesn’t mean to quit your current job,
take that time to work hard in building an empire of something you love most.
Identify your personal
value, practice the skills you have with real example from people who stand
firm to what they love and do. Find a good mentor, matching your aspiring
profession to assist you in achieving your dream goal of doing something you
really love.
I hope you love what you are doing right now.In case you find yourself in the dilemma, please don't hesitate to contact me for a special Mentorship program on "My Dream, My Career Choice."
